Welcome to the show friends!
On this episode I share 10 tips that can help you with mastery of the yoga postures:
- Seek guidance: Work with a qualified yoga teacher who can guide you and offer feedback on your practice.
- Consistency: Regular practice is key. Set aside a specific time each day to practice yoga.
- Study Yoga Sutra 1.12 Practice non-attachment: Let go of expectations and enjoy the journey. Remember that yoga is not just about the physical postures, but also about the inner transformation that comes with consistent practice.
- Breath: Connect your breath with your movements. This will help you to stay present and calm.
- Rest and recover: Allow yourself time to rest and recover between practices. This will help you to avoid burnout and stay motivated.
- Challenge yourself: Once you feel comfortable with a posture, try to deepen it or hold it for longer. This will help you to progress and continue to see results.
- Patience: Don't expect to master a posture overnight. It takes time, so be patient with yourself.
- Modification: Don't be afraid to modify a posture if it doesn't feel right for your body. Work with a teacher to find alternatives.
- Alignment: Pay attention to proper alignment in each posture. This will help you to avoid injury and progress in your practice.
- Focus on the long game: Stay focused on the development of your practice, and don't compare yourself to others. Everyone's journey is unique.
